Philosophy

Our beliefs as an architectural practice:

... That buildings should be evocative and appeal to the senses. We want users to engage with our buildings and occupy them in ways that constantly evolve and enrich their lives.

... That monuments are for dead people. We think the age of symmetry and centrality in buildings has passed. We wish to emphasise movement, spatial flow, and connections to the wider environment.

... That reducing the impact that buildings have on the environment is critical to living in balance with nature.

... That there is a worthy tradition of New Zealand Building and Architecture we can respect, utilise and build on into the future.

... That our clients give us some of our best ideas. We want your participation in the process because we know the results will be better.

... That small things matter. The integrity of a project is judged by it's detail.
